General Manager Wouter Dekkers welcomes the decision: "We are relieved that the wait is now over and that we will be able to offer our guests tropical vacations again in time for the summer vacations," Dekkers said.
The time until the reopening will be used intensively to make final arrangements and prepare all accommodations for the guests. To this end, all employees have already been brought back to Europe's largest tropical vacation world.
"The fact that we haven't had to announce any corona-related layoffs in these tough economic times makes us proud and happy," Dekkers says, adding, "We're expecting very high demand again and even urgently still need staff for the challenges ahead."
Last year's tried-and-tested hygiene concept will ensure visitor safety: tickets can only be booked online; the number of guests will again be reduced by 50% and masks are compulsory in restaurants and stores, as well as the obligatory AHA rules during the stay. Upon entry this year, current negative tests (24h) or proof of vaccination protection and recovery must also be presented. A testing center will also be set up on the grounds where guests, employees and residents of the surrounding communities can get tested free of charge.
"Health is always our top priority. The test center provides additional safety and is a sensible extension of our concept," Dekkers says.
The resort's overnight accommodations have also been expanded once again. In addition to the existing 248 outdoor accommodations, another 48 cottages have been added. The new Amazonia Houses, which owe their name to their proximity to the popular outdoor area, are fully equipped and can be booked for 4-6 people.
