Are you looking forward to your time at Tropical Islands, but still have some unanswered questions? We are happy to help you. Here you can find out everything about your stay at Tropical Islands. We have provided information on all the main subject areas for frequently asked questions on this page.

  • What days is it possible to arrive?

    It is possible to arrive on any day of the year. The reception is open daily.

  • Is it possible to add an extra bed?

    The rooms and tents are available in different sizes for two to four people. Unfortunately, an extra bed beyond this is not possible.

    Unfortunately, the lodges do not offer the possibility of extra beds.

    The Woodland Homes are designed to accommodate up to 6 people.

  • Where can I store my personal belongings?

    Although the tents are lockable, we recommend that our tent residents store their baggage and personal belongings in the lockers in the changing area or in the storage room at reception.

    This service is of course also available to our guests in the rooms and lodges.

    Guests of the Fabric Tipis, Sunrise Homes, AMAZONIA Houses, Woodland Homes and Nature Homes can rent lockers in the Tropical Islands Hall. The fee for the lockers in the Tropical Islands Hall is 2.50 euros per day.

  • Is it possible to borrow bathrobes and towels?

    Yes, you can get bathrobes and towels for a deposit at the sauna & Spa information.

    The following prices per day apply to day guests:

    Bath towel: 3.50 euro fee and 30 .00 Euro deposit
    Bathrobe: 5.00 Euro fee and 60.00 Euro deposit

  • Is Tropical Islands accessible?

    Tropical Islands has wide walkways, wheelchair-accessible toilets, changing areas and accommodations. Ramps and lifts make many areas in the Dome accessible. The paved paths and slopes in our rainforest are also wheelchair accessible. There are also accessible Woodland Homes on the campground.

  • How do I pay at Tropical Islands?

    You will receive a chip wristband you can pay all expenses at Tropical Islands without cash and settle the balance later when you check out. You can check your balance at the "Balance Checks" or at the shop counters.

    The payment options available are EC card, American Express, VISA card, MasterCard or cash.

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?

    Our reception team is available every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. to provide you with advice and assistance. Please check in at the reception in the hall.

    The reception is open around the clock, you can check in to the hall from 6:00 am onwards. If you arrive after 6 pm, please let us know, otherwise the accommodation will be reassigned.

    For rooms, lodges and tents in the hall

    The keys are issued from 4 pm. Check-out from the accommodation is by 11:00 on the day of departure. Afterwards, you can enjoy the rest of the day at Tropical Islands as you like.

    Sunrise Homes, AMAZONIA Houses, Woodland Homes, Nature Homes, Luxury and Lodge- Tents

    The keys are issued on the day of arrival from 4 p.m. onwards. Check-out is by 10:00 on the day of departure. Afterwards, you can enjoy the rest of the day at Tropical Islands as you like.


    Pitches are allocated on the day of arrival from 11 a.m onwards. Please plan to vacate your pitch before 11:00 when you depart.

    If you arrive after reception has closed, late check-in can be arranged via reception at Tropical Islands. We ask that late arrivals be notified and arranged in advance.

    Tipi tents

    The check-in time for your tipi tent is from 4 p.m. onwards. Check-out is by 11 a.m on the day of departure.

  • How close is the campsite to Tropical Islands?

    The campsite is within sight of the Tropical Islands hall and can be reached in no time with the free shuttle bus. It takes about 20 minutes on foot.

    The Woodland Homes and Nature Homes are within sight and there is a regular shuttle bus.

    The AMAZONIA Houses are located right next to the Tropical Islands Dome. To get to the main entrance takes just a few minutes' on foot.

  • What facilities are there on the campsite pitches?

    Please remember to use a cable with max. 25m in length, diameter of the rubber hose at least 2.5mm², CEE coupling (female) on one side and CEE plug (male) on the other side if you need electricity on the campsite.

    Pay with tokens by unit:

    Fee for the chip bracelet in the Tropical Islands hall per day: 2,50 EUR Please always hand in the chip wristband at the reception desk in the entrance area before you leave.

    Admission to Tropical Islands for guests of the campsite

    You can enter and leave Tropical Islands as often as you like. The provision is valid for the duration of the booked stay at the campsite. This offer is only valid with prior booking at least one day before arrival.

  • May I bring my drone?

    Please be advised that the carrying or use of drones and other flying devices is prohibited throughout the Tropical Islands grounds.

  • Will I receive a refund in the event of an officially mandated closure?

    Yes, in such circumstances you may cancel free of charge and receive a 100% refund of all payments already made.

  • Where is the first aid station located?

    Our first aid station is located on the north side of the hall between the Tropical Islands Store and the Fashion Store. In the event of an emergency, please contact one of our staff members.

  • Is there TV reception at the campsite?

    For guests who don't wish to miss the 8 p.m. news or their favourite TV series at the campsite, we advise them to bring their own aerial and receiver. This means that DVB-T2 reception is possible on the premises.

  • Is there a naturist section?

    Nude bathing is not possible at Tropical Islands, but in the tropical wellness landscape you can, no: should indeed, disrobe.

  • Can I charge my mobile?

    In Tropical Islands, there are charging stations for mobile phones in case the battery runs out. The tokens required are 1.50 euros each are available at the Bora Bora Lounge, the Lagoon Bar, the Tropical Garden and at the information desk. Mobile phones can be deposited in the lockable boxes and picked up later once fully charged. The service offer is particularly useful for guests staying in tents without electrical outlet.

  • Are pets permitted?

    Generally, animals are not permitted at Tropical Islands. However, dogs are welcome at the Tropical Islands campsite! The campsite even has its own dog shower. 

    Some holiday homes can accommodate dogs, on request. For hygiene reasons, dogs are prohibited in the tepee tents.

    If you wish to bring other animals onto the campsite, please arrange this in advance.

    Please do not under any circumstances leave your dog in the car, in an emergency we will be forced to alert the police. There are several dog kennels around Tropical Islands that will be happy to take care of your pet.

  • May I bring a pram?

    Of course you can bring a pram. Our wide walkways and ramps make many paths easily accessible for you.

  • Is there a dress code?

    Summer clothing is ideal (approx. 26°C air temperature) if you e.g., in the Tropical Village or in Rainforest are on the move. Also remember to bring sandals or light summer shoes! You may also wish to clothes to change into for dinner in the evening or clothes to work out in? Swimwear is the thing to wear on the beach and in the water. Our water temperature is 32°C in the lagoon and 28°C in Sudsee. Remember to bring towels and a cosy bathrobe for afterwards.
    The transparent roof foil on the south side of the dome lets in about 80 % of the sun's rays. That means if you lie in the sun at Sudsee, you will also get a tan - sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on how cloudy the sky is outside.
    If the sky is not cloudy, also remember to wear sunscreen!

  • What if I am travelling with small children?

    Tropical Islands has facilities for changing diapers. The premises are marked accordingly.
    You can not buy baby food at Tropical Islands, of course you may bring it with you.

  • Do I need to pay a visitor’s tax?

    You don't need to pay any visitor’s tax when you visit us.

  • Are there any parking spaces available?

    Please note that our parking spaces are subject to charges. The fee per drive-up in the immediate vicinity of the hall is EUR 5.00 and the fees for parking spaces P2 and P3 are EUR 2.00 each for a day with maximum validity until 01:00 the following day.

    Free parking is available immediately behind the entrance to the Tropical Islands site.

  • Is smoking permitted at Tropical Islands?

    Smoking is only permitted in the Bora Bora Lounge. This includes electronic cigarettes.

  • When is the cleaning carried out?

    If you are in the lagoon or Sudsee at night, you may sometimes encounter cleaning activities that could disturb your peace and relaxation.
    Please look out for relevant notices in the entrance area of Tropical Islands.

  • Is there a shuttle service available?

    You can reach Europe's largest tropical vacation world in just a few minutes by shuttle bus. If, in addition to the Tropical Islands experience and wellness area, you would also like to explore the Berlin or Potsdam region, the free shuttle bus will take you to the nearest train station in Brand.

  • May I bring my own food or drinks?

    For reasons of hygiene, visitors are not permitted to bring food and drinks to Tropical Islands. Baby food and special dietary foods for diabetics, allergy sufferers, etc. are exempt.

  • Can I charge my plug-in hybrid at Tropical Islands?

    As a guest of Tropical Islands, you can charge your plug-in hybrid at one of the 16 e-charging points opposite the main entrance or at the resort.

    The charging fee is €5 per hour or part thereof and a charging capacity of 10 kW.

    To use a charging station, please register at the information desk in the entrance area of the hall, stating the charging station number. A deposit of €50 is required for the key to the charging station. The deposit will be settled with the invoice when the keys are returned. The parking fee is not included in the charging fees. Unauthorised charging is punishable by a fine of €70.

  • What to look for in tipi tents?

    The tipi tents are outside the Tropical Islands hall at the campsite.
  • There are no tipi tents for rent from the end of October to March.
  • The check-in time for your tipi Tent is from 4 p.m. Check-out is by 11 a.m on the day of departure.
